How to command

Each 12-unit army begins in two flanks. Units may cross the center and support either side. Select a circle unit, then choose a destination or visible enemy. Orders cost 1 CP. A complete command structure provides 4 CP each turn. The most recent movement order can be undone before attacking or ending the turn.

Unit key

L Leader · M Mounted Knight · W Banner Warden · P Pike · A Archer

Archers can fire up to 4 tiles. They strike at full power within 2 tiles and at reduced power from 3–4 tiles. Pikes can attack adjacent targets orthogonally or diagonally. Knights take one less damage from Archer attacks and one extra damage from Pike attacks.

Banner Wardens claim objectives immediately at turn end. Other eligible units must hold their objective for one additional full turn. A defeated Warden drops its banner; a Pike can recover its own banner, remain in place for a full turn, and promote into a Warden. Any unit can claim a dropped enemy banner after two turn endings on its tile; a Leader or Knight claims it after one. Claiming an enemy banner subtracts 2 VP from its owner.

Occupied tiles stop movement. A Knight facing a three-unit enemy line directly ahead and on both forward diagonals can only step sideways on its second move that turn.

Mist only obscures unexplored terrain; explored tiles remain fully clear, while enemy units are shown only during current vision. Defeating every enemy Archer awards 4 VP, and defeating every original enemy Pike awards 6 VP. Forts are worth 4 VP; watchtowers and supply outposts are worth 2 VP. Captured objectives transfer their VP when control changes. Reach 20 VP or defeat the opposing leader.
